Health and Safety Advisor/Facilities Admin Support

Salary: £35,000
Location: East Kilbride
Working pattern: Monday – Friday (Day shift)
Hours per week: 40
Permanent contract

Due to continued business growth and the development of our team, we are seeking to strengthen our Health & Safety expertise to ensure full compliance with all legal and statutory requirements.

Responsibilities:

· Support the risk assessment process and consider how risks could be reduced

· Carry out FRA for all Depots

· Outline safe operational procedures which identify and consider all relevant hazards

· Review the depot inspections/audits in MYC to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented.

· Review the actions produced from MYC to ensure completion.

· Ensure working practices are safe and comply with legislation

· Lead in-house training with managers and employees about health and safety issues and risks

· Keep records of inspection findings and produce reports that suggest improvements

· Review incidents and accidents in MYC and produce statistics for managers

· Advise on a range of specialist areas, e.g., fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, and occupational diseases.

· Produce schedules for the facilities team

· Review the schedule for legal and statutory compliance.

Desirable Qualifications

· NEBOSH General Certificate

· Tech IOSH as a minimum

Skills:

· General H&S knowledge and skills to help promote a positive health and safety culture in our workplace.

· Experience in the Food and Drink Sector.

· Excellent written and spoken communication skills to explain health and safety processes to a range of people and to give presentations to groups

· Negotiating skills to convince managers of the need to implement and maintain safety standards that may compromise speed or efficiency in the organisation

· Patience and diplomacy demonstrating a collaborative approach

· The ability to understand and analyse complex information and present it simply and accurately

· An investigative mind

· IT skills

· Attention to detail

· A flexible approach to work

· An interest in the law and the ability to understand regulations

· A full driving licence - essential for jobs involving travel between sites.
